Michelle Buggy is a Psychotherapist (Clinical PACFA & EMDRAA registered) and group facilitator.
She has completed her MA of Art Therapy with 24yrs experience in Community & Mental Health as an Art therapist.
Michelle has 10 years Mental Health experience at The Geelong Clinic in a Private psychiatric hospital as Art Therapist.
Michelle continues to run Art Therapy, inpatient and outpatient groups, with clients struggling with Eating Disorders, addictive behaviours or other mental health presentations including depression, anxiety, Bipolar, BPD and other diagnosis at the Geelong Clinic.
Michelle is a practising registered EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing) therapist at the Clinic,
with trauma informed training with the EMDR inpatient program.
She also facilitates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
and Dialectic Behavioural Therapy Skills (DBT) psycho-education groups.
She is a passionate mother of 5; many of the intensive mothering years she,
dedicated to working with other mothers in Melbourne and Geelong.
During this time, she worked in different capacities including Doula, Women's Creative Connections Groups, Pregnancy support (Geelong Hospital) and Mother / Daughter connection workshops.
Michelle continues to run Celebration Day for Girls facilitator, positive mensuration education that promotes the mother / daughter bond.
Michelle remains passionate in woman's health and fosters a sense of connection with others and self. Her intention is to return to working with women in this pivotal time of change to support and validate their experience using art and storytelling as an expressive tool.
