She is a Clinical Registrant with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and a registered member of the Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Association of Australia.
Therapeutic Approach
Michelle provides a compassionate, client-centred approach that honours each person's unique experiences, values, and goals. She supports individuals to deepen self-understanding, navigate life challenges, and create meaningful and sustainable change.
Drawing from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Michelle works collaboratively with clients to explore personal meaning, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and develop practical skills for everyday life.

Michelle is trained in the Gottman Method for Relationship Therapy and supports couples to:
- Improve communication and conflict resolution
- Increase emotional connection and intimacy
- Develop mutual understanding, respect, and empathy
- Strengthen trust and relationship resilience
Trauma Therapy & EMDR
Michelle is an experienced EMDR practitioner, working with individuals experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, distressing life events, and adverse experiences.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and integrate traumatic memories, reducing the emotional intensity and associated symptoms.
Michelle integrates EMDR within a broader therapeutic framework, providing a safe and supportive environment for healing, resilience, and post-traumatic growth.
Areas of Support
Michelle works with adults and adolescents experiencing:
- Trauma and PTSD
- Anxiety and panic
- Depression and low mood
- Stress and emotional overwhelm
- Grief and loss
- Relationship difficulties
- Life transitions and adjustment challenges
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Self-esteem and identity concerns
- Birth trauma and perinatal mental health challenges
Michelle tailors therapy to the individual and may draw from:
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Narrative Therapy
- Creative Arts Therapy
- Mindfulness-Based Approaches
- Trauma-Informed Practice
- Internal Family Systems (IFS-informed approaches)
- Grief and Loss Counselling
Alongside traditional psychotherapy, Michelle incorporates creative and expressive approaches when appropriate. Creative Arts Therapy can assist clients to explore experiences that may be difficult to express in words, deepen self-awareness, process emotions, and develop new perspectives.
For younger clients, Michelle may utilise creative interventions, art-based processes, and practical skills-based learning to support emotional expression, self-regulation, and resilience.
Philosophy
Michelle believes that healing occurs through connection, understanding, and the capacity to make meaning from our experiences. Through psychotherapy, creative inquiry, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches, she supports clients to develop a stronger sense of self, deeper self-compassion, and a greater sense of connection in their lives and relationships.

A note from Michelle....
I would love to meet and work with you. I’m curious to understand what you think you might need to improve your wellness. As well as private practice - I work at a Private psychiatric hospital as an Art Therapist & EMDR therapist for the Inpatient EMDR program. I have also worked as psychotherapist and psycho-educator, in the psychiatric hospital setting running inpatient and outpatient groups. I have experience in working with people who have been diagnosed with a range of mental health presentations including depression, anxiety, mood disorders and PTSD over the past 12 years. AND I AM A GREAT LISTENER I am passionate fostering a sense of re-connection with others and self. I believe whenever we feel disharmony or a need for change is a pivotal time to create personal understanding for personal ease. I support and validate experience using art and storytelling as an expressive tool. Warm Regards, Michelle |
